The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are reportedly going to review the central contracts of their players after the group stage elimination of the national team in the T20 World Cup 2024. There is a potential of the Pakistan players getting their salaries reduced after they suffered a shock defeat against the USA, which led to them not qualifying through to the Super 8 stage of the tournament.
As per the report from India Today, the source said that some of the officials and the former players have advised the PCB to take action after the early elimination of Pakistan from the T20 World Cup 2024. Mohsin Naqvi, the Chairman of the PCB, is expected to reassess the central contracts given to the Pakistan players by his predecessor Zaka Ashraf.

The PCB source told PTI, “There could be a reassessment of the central contracts and the players could find their salaries and fees being cut if the Chairman decides to react strongly to the team’s recent woeful performances.”
“Nothing is final as yet but yes, this strong measure has been discussed within the board with the Chairman,” they added.
Furthermore, the PCB is going to strictly enforce its two-NOCs policy, wherein it allows the Pakistan players to take part in a maximum of two overseas leagues after their embarrassment in the T20 World Cup 2024. It has been further revealed that the PCB hasn’t issued an NOC to youngsters Azam Khan and Saim Ayub despite being retained by their respective Caribbean Premier League (CPL) teams.
“The other players have also been given a clear message that the two NOC rules apply to both centrally and domestic contracted players and the board also reserves the right to turn down any NOC request from any player,” remarked the PCB source.
