Best day of my life: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after win vs. Portugal

After winning the match to book their spot in the Round of 16, Khvicha compared Georgia’s qualification to Napoli’s Serie A victory and said, “The Scudetto was great but today I’m so happy because you’re playing for your country. This is the best day of my life because it was more difficult to do this with the Georgian team than win the Scudetto with Napoli.”

He added, “It was always a dream of mine to play for the national team and we made it through to (the) next round, it’s difficult to describe my emotions.”

Despite the loss, Portugal finished as Group F toppers and will next face Slovenia on Monday night in the UEFA Euro 2024 Round of 16.
