Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, on Tuesday, July 9 rewarded Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj for his contribution to the Indian cricket team after Rohit Sharma-led Team India triumphed at the T20 World Cup 2024. Siraj, who received a hero’s welcome last week in his hometown in Hyderabad, also appeared at the Chief Minister’s residence and got acknowledged for his contributions to the winning side.
After this gesture, the Telangana CM, Revanth Reddy has felicitated Siraj, praising his talent and contribution in Indian cricket team. “Mohammed Siraj has brought immense pride to our country and great honour to the state of Telangana,” CM Reddy said.
Moreover, the official account of Telangana CMO took to X (formerly Twitter) to heap praise on the cricketer. “The Chief Minister @revanth_anumula congratulated the all-round cricketer @mdsirajofficial who brought great fame to India and our state of Telangana in international cricket. Siraj, who came to Hyderabad after winning #T20WorldCup met the Chief Minister at his residence as a courtesy. Siraj was honored on this occasion,” it read.
“The Chief Minister appreciated Siraj’s excellent performance in #T20WorldCup2024. The officials were ordered to allot a house and a job to Siraj on behalf of the state government. The Chief Minister ordered the officials to find a suitable place in Hyderabad or nearby areas and take appropriate measures to provide government jobs,” it further added.
Earlier, Siraj himself took to Instagram to share his experience after getting a massive welcome in Mumbai as well as in his hometown. Taking to Instagram, Siraj wrote, “Seeing so many people in Mumbai and my home city of Hyderabad was surreal and so special. I felt the deep love you showered on me. It made me realise how much this World Cup means to the whole country. To see you all celebrating and chanting was amazing. There are no words to describe my feelings. I literally had goosebumps. It was a dream to win the World Cup. This cup is for all of you, for the whole country. A moment which will always remain in my heart and these memories will stay with me forever. Thank you for always supporting us through our highs and lows. You guys are the best. I am grateful to all of you. Lots of love and gratitude from my side. I am humbled. Jai Hind 🇮🇳🏆💙”
