Canadian rapper Drake’s infamous bad luck in losing sports bets continued after Israel Adesanya suffered a defeat against middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis in the main event of UFC 305. After Drake lost a $450k bet on the challenger, the champion Dricus du Plessis, took to social media to troll him with a humorous post.
For the unversed, at the RAC Arena in Perth, Dricus du Plessis submitted Israel Adesanya with a rear-naked choke at 3:38 of the fourth round. The fight was quite even in the first three rounds, but the fourth round saw du Plessis land a nasty left hand on Adesanya before registering a submission win.
Before the fight, Drake, who had a lot of money riding on Israel Adesanya, showcased his support for him on his official Instagram account by posting, “Always with Izzy.” But then, Dricus du Plessis took over in the main event of UFC 305, to deny $855k payout to Drake after putting an end to the former middleweight champion inside the octagon.
After a massive win, Dricus du Plessis trolled Drake by posting, “From the bottom of my heart once again THANK YOU @Drake,” with a teary-eyed laughing emoji.
Moreover, as per the reports, the betting record of Drake is quite an abysmal one across sports in the recent years. He has 17 wins compared to a whopping 189 losses in betting, a conversion rate of less than 10%.
