Fans react to T20 World Cup theme based idol of Lord Ganesha ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi

A few days are left for the celebration of the Ganesh Chaturthi and the people have already started their preparations for the big festival. In a photo that went viral on social media, the members of Lambodar Ganpati Sarvajanik Mandal of Khetwadi created a unique idol of Lord Ganesha in Mumbai with a theme of the T20 World Cup trophy. 

The devotees also celebrated India’s T20 World Cup win in June along with the arrival of Lord Ganesha, wherein the idol of Mushak Raj near Lord Ganesha can be seen holding the prestigious trophy.

Notably, India finally ended their 11-year ICC trophy jinx by winning the 2024 T20 World  Cup in West Indies and the USA. The Men in Blue defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final in Barbados. With this, India also won their second T20 World Cup title after 17 years since becoming the champions in the inaugural edition in 2007. 

This T20 World Cup victory was also an special one for the Indian fans as it was their first ICC tournament win in the 11 years since the Champions Trophy triumph in 2013. After failing in the knockouts from all these years, India were finally able to cross the finishing line.

Post their T20 World Cup win, the players and the coaching staff of the Indian cricket team received a grand welcome in Mumbai followed by the victory parade and big event at the Wankhede Stadium. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also honored Indian team players with cash prize of INR 125 crore for winning the T20 World Cup.
