Chill aadmi hai, maje dilate hain batting mei: Rinku Singh opens up on his batting experience with Rohit Sharma

India’s young dynamic batter Rinku Singh opened up on his batting experience with India captain Rohit Sharma. Singh, has cemented his place in India’s T20 batting scenario, but still has a long way to go. The cricketer who has played several impressive knocks was snubbed from India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad. His omission from the squad raised quite a few eyebrows, considering his positive performance for the Indian side before the tournament.

However, Rinku was a part of India’s travel squad along with Shubman Gill, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan. The cricketer recently opened up on how Sharma consoled him and shared a piece of advice which helped Rinku cope up with the snub. Not only this, but like any other young Indian cricketer, Rinku heaped praise on India’s T20 World Cup 2024 winning captain and opened up on how it is like to bat with Sharma.

Rinku talked to News 24 and said that Sharma is a very chill and easy-to-bat-with guy. He said, “Chill aadmi hai badiya ekdum maje dilate hain batting mei. Mujhe bol rahe the aaram se badiya batting karta reh, udhar se six lag rahe the.” (“Luckily, I have batted with Rohit Bhaiya, it was fun to bat with him. He is a chill guy and he makes batting so much fun. He asked to keep batting and he himself was hitting sixes at the other end.”)

I want to play all three formats for India: Rinku Singh

Singh opened up on his future plans with India and accepted that while he enjoys playing red-ball cricket, playing Test cricket for the country is a big feat. The 26-year-old cricketer said, “I want to play all three formats of the game. I like playing Test cricket a lot. My batting average in red-ball cricket is 55. Mujhe bahut pasand hai laal baal khelna (I really like playing red-ball cricket.) Bahut maja aata hai mujhe khelna mein. (I enjoy playing the format.)”

He added, “Test cricket is very big cricket. White ball to sab khelte hai magar Test khelna bahut badi baat hai aaj ke time mein. Toh vo mai khelna chahunga.” (Everyone plays white-ball cricket, but playing Test is a big feat. I would like to play the format.)
