WATCH: Axar Patel pulls off outrageous one-handed catch to dismiss Marsh in T20 World Cup ’24

Indian all-rounder Axar Patel held on to arguably the catch of the tournament to dismiss Au stralian captain Mitch Marsh in the Super 8s clash of the T20 World Cup 2024. After being asked to bat first, Team India posted a massive 205-run total thanks to Rohit Sharma’s 92 which came off 41 balls. 

Chasing this total, Australia despite losing David Warner went hell-for-leather with Travis Head and Mitch Marsh taking on the Indian attack. The duo posted a massive 81-run stand when the Aussie captain attempted to attack Kuldeep Yadav.

The left-arm wrist spinner gave away only four runs in his first five balls when Marsh tried to slog him towards the leg side. The ball zoomed towards the square leg boundary where Axar Patel made the perfect jump and held on to a magical catch.

Rohit Sharma abuses Rishabh Pant over missed Mitch Marsh  catch

The India-Australia T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8s clash witnessed a heated moment as captain Rohit Sharma yelled at wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant for not attempting a catch to dismiss Aussie skipper Mitch Marsh.  The delivery climbed into Marsh who managed to get an edge. 

The ball looped up but Rishabh Pant seemingly lost his footing and slipped a bit. This stopped him from fully committing towards a catch. Reacting to this missed opportunity, Rohit Sharma was seen abusing Pant as he got back to his position.
