Documents: Leaked Fortnite “Disney-IP Development” timeline

The timeline shows that popular characters like Peter Griffin from Family Guy and John McClane from Die Hard were originally going to appear in Season 2, Chapter 5, in December 2020. Unfortunately, for unknown reasons, these plans have been postponed and were put aside until December 2023.

Additionally, the leaks also suggest that the in-game character design changes over a period of time. Peter Graffins’s game model was changed to look more muscular from its original fo rm. However, there is no update on the release of the highly anticipated collaboration. The development has been running for the last three years and might be released soon.

Disney’s $1.5 Billion Investment

Disney is investing $1.5 billion in Epic Games to expand Fortnite’s universe, featuring tons of well-known movies and shows. The $1.5 million project will give fans the opportunity to shop, play, and interact with characters from beloved Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Avatar movies.

Players, gamers, and fans will be able to craft their own tales and experiences, and display their enthusiasm in a very Disney way. This will all be powered by the Unreal Engine.

“Our exciting new relationship with Epic Games will bring together Disney’s beloved brands and franchises with the hugely popular Fortnite in a transformational new games and entertainment universe,” said Robert A. Iger, Chief Executive Officer of the Walt Disney company. “This marks Disney’s biggest entry ever into the world of games and offers significant opportunities for growth and expansion. We can’t wait for fans to experience the Disney stories and worlds they love in groundbreaking new ways,” he further added.

It looks like Epic Games is planning to release these collaborations together with the launch of new movies or TV shows to promote the game and its new release.

This has happened before when Fortnite collaborations were timed to major movies or series premieres to generate more buzz and excitement among fans. Along with these releases, Epic Games could attract more players to Fortnite and also encourage Disney to develop new projects. This approach benefits both companies and allows players to interact with new and interesting content.
