The Indian cricketer, Suryakumar Yadav’s wife Devish Shetty, took to her official Instagram account to post a heartfelt message for her husband after he became the new T20I captain of India. The 33-year-old will be leading the Men in Blue in the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

In his T20I career, Suryakumar Yadav has temporarily captained the Indian cricket team on a couple of occasions when Rohit Shamra was given a rest. During the year 2023, he led the national team in seven matches, winning five and losing two, including a 4-1 series win against Australia at home.

Devisha Shetty shared a post in an Instagram story for her husband about becoming the new captain of the Indian T20I team, in which she wrote, “When you started playing for India, we never imagined this day would come! But god is great and everyone gets the reward of (for) their hard work and diligence in due time. So proud of you and how far you’ve come but this is just the beginning of your legacy. Long way to go.”

Just a day ago, Suryakumar Yadav also thanked everyone for their support after getting appointed as the new T20I captain of India. He remarked on Instagram, “Thank you so much for outpouring love, support and best wishes from you. Last few weeks have been nothing short of a dream and I am truly grateful. Playing for the country is the most special feeling that I will never be able to describe in words. This new role brings with it, a lot of responsibility, excitement and enthusiasm. I hope to keep receiving your support and blessings. All fame reaches God, God is great”.

Suryakumar Yadav, who is one of the top batters in the T20I format in the last couple of years, will be looking to get off to a good start with the bat and in the captaincy role, stamping his authority on the Indian cricket team during the upcoming tour to Sri Lanka.
