The UEFA Europa League adopted a new format and announced the draws for the 2024-25 season. As per the draws, Manchester United will play former Champions League winners Porto in an away game. In addition, they will also reunite with their former manager Jose Mourinho as they were drawn against Fenerbahce in the league phase on Friday, August 30. United will be travelling to Fenerbahce among one of their eight league-stage fixtures. On the other hand, Tottenham Hotspurs will be up against Roma in one of their games.
Mourinho’s return to Old Trafford will undoubtedly be one of the highly anticipated clashes, as he led United to Europa League glory in 2017. In addition to clashing against Fenerbahce, United will be up against 2022 Europa League runners-up Rangers, in a home as well as an away game. Rangers, who made it to the final in the previous season will provide a stern contest to the Red Devils. Tottenham Hotspur will clash against Roma at their home in the season. They are also drawn to clash against Rangers and Galatasaray in away games.
