After poor performance in first Test against Bangladesh, Azam once again failed to deliver with the bat and could manage to come up with a knock of 31 runs. Notably, Azam has failed to score any fifty in his last 15 innings.
The last time the Pakistan batter delivered a notable performance in Tests was in December 2022. The 29-year-old amassed 161 runs against New Zealand in a Test in Karachi. In his last 15 innings, Azam scored only 320 runs. Before this Test, Pakistan’s white-ball captain got out on scores of 0 and 22 against Bangladesh. Owing to the poor performance by the hosts, they were handed their first-ever defeat against Bangladesh in Tests.
